Carpet Cleaning Non Compete

Carpet Cleaning Non Compete

A federal judge in Texas has blocked the U.S. Federal Trade Commission (FTC) from implementing a nationwide ban on noncompete agreements, stating the FTC lacks the authority to regulate such practices. This ruling follows a temporary block in July, and the FTC is considering an appeal. The ban, which took effect on September 4, would have been the first nationwide restriction on noncompetes. However, states like California, Minnesota, Oklahoma, and North Dakota already have similar bans, with others limiting their use. Several lawsuits have been filed challenging the FTC's authority, including a recent one in Florida.
