Carpet Cleaning Machine?

Truckmount cleaning systems have evolved significantly, enhancing their performance, reliability, and versatility beyond simple carpet cleaning. Modern truckmounts can handle multiple cleaning tools simultaneously and offer capabilities like hot-water, high-pressure washing, and wastewater recovery.

Key components for a high-performance truckmount include the engine, blower, water pump, and heat exchange system.

Michael Roden, VP of Engineering at Legend Brands with over 30 years of experience, emphasizes that a top-quality truckmount hinges on how these components work together. There are generally two types of truckmount systems: direct-drive and slide-in.

Direct drive compared to slide in truck mount machine systems

Direct-drive truckmount systems use the vehicle’s engine to power the blower, water pump, and heating system. The Chevrolet/GMC V-8 van is commonly used for these systems. In contrast, "slide-in" truckmounts are installed in a vehicle by professionals and are powered by industrial engines, ranging from twin-cylinder air-cooled to four-cylinder liquid-cooled engines. These engines are chosen for their horsepower, torque, fuel efficiency, and durability.

**Vacuum Systems:**

Truckmount vacuum blowers vary in size and must be matched to the engine's specifications. A well-designed recovery tank and pre-filtration system are crucial for optimal vacuum performance.

**Pressure Pumps:**

Critical ratings for truckmounts are pump pressure and gallons per minute (GPM). While traditional systems clean carpets at 400-500 psi, higher-quality models can produce up to 900 psi and 2.5 GPM, suitable for hard surface cleaning. Some advanced units can handle pressure washing at 2,500 psi and 5.7 GPM.

**Heating Systems:**

Modern truckmounts predominantly use heat-exchange systems that repurpose engine and blower heat to warm water, making them more efficient and environmentally friendly. These systems can maintain high temperatures for multiple tools simultaneously, with electronic thermostatic controls ensuring precise temperature regulation.

Overall, achieving optimal performance and durability in truckmount systems requires a balanced integration of all components, ensuring they complement each other effectively.
